LEZEN · READING

Make short Dutch texts feel familiar.

Reading practice starts with useful words, simple sentences and finding the answer in a text.

01

Read a little every day

Start with names, numbers, times, signs and short messages. Read slowly, then ask yourself what the text tells you.

02

Try this original example

Anna woont in Utrecht. Zij werkt op maandag in een winkel. Vraag: Waar woont Anna? Answer: in Utrecht.

03

Find the question word

Waar asks where. Wie asks who. Wanneer asks when. Hoeveel asks how many or how much. Finding that word helps you know what to look for.

ONE SMALL NEXT STEP

You don’t need every answer to start learning.

Make a short list of your questions. Then separate your learning goals from anything that needs legal advice.
